Life Education Mid & South Canterbury

Life Education Trust Mid-South Canterbury is dedicated to
inspiring tamariki and rangatahi to make positive, healthy choices. For nearly 35
years, we’ve been a proud advocate for the health and wellbeing of young people in
our region—part of New Zealand’s largest health education provider.
Through our iconic Healthy Harold Programme, with Harold the giraffe as our
highly recognisable brand ambassador, we deliver personalised learning
experiences to primary and intermediate students. Our fully qualified Educators
teach from state-of-the-art mobile classrooms, using innovative technology and
engaging resources to create memorable and impactful lessons.
Each year, we reach approximately 8,000 children across more than 65 schools,
travelling directly to schools of all sizes and locations—including those in remote
areas. Our mobile classroom brings high-quality health education right to the
doorstep.
Our mission is simple but powerful: to empower children with the knowledge and
confidence to make informed, healthy decisions, helping them unlock their full
potential.
Key facts:
 We receive no government funding
 Our Educators are registered teachers, employed under the National
Collective Agreement
 Our school calendar is booked out annually, demonstrating strong demand
 Local trustees are responsible for securing funding to ensure every child has
the opportunity to participate
We are proud of the impact we’ve made—and continue to make—through
passionate governance, strong community partnerships, and a vision dedicated to
building a healthier future for our young people.
